Release XenSupport is on Discord: straight answers, release pings and a lounge right here on the forum

XenSupport now has its own Discord server, and it is wired into this forum instead of sitting next to it. The forum, its threads and its tickets stay where they are. Discord is one more door, and you pick the one you prefer.

What the server is for​

• #pre-sales: does an add-on fit your forum, your theme, your XenForo version? Ask before you buy. You get a straight answer, even when the answer is no.
• #community-help: one post per question, open to everyone. Say your XenForo and PHP versions and what you tried, so the next person finds the answer too.
• #customer-support and a voice channel: reserved for customers.
• #releases: each new stable version on the store lands here by itself, with its changelog. Take the Notify releases role for one ping per release, nothing else.
• #feature-ideas: one idea per post. React to the ideas you want: that is what the queue is built from.
• #general and #show-your-forum: running a board, hosting, moderation, growth, and the forum you built.

Licences, invoices and refunds stay private: open a ticket on the store, as before.

Link your account once​

Open Discord in your account and link it in one click. You join the server and, if you hold a paid licence or a subscription, the customer channels open by themselves. There is no code to enter, and your access follows your licences from then on.

Linking only reads your Discord name and ID. It has no access to your messages, your servers or your e-mail address, and you can unlink whenever you like.

The lounge, inside the forum​

The Discord entry in the navigation opens the server's public channels right here, and they update by themselves. You can follow along as a logged-in member without opening Discord at all. Once your account is linked and you are on the server, you can reply from the forum and your message lands on Discord. Customers also see the customer channels.

The lounge is for logged-in members and is not indexed by search engines. If you would rather keep your messages off the forum, take the Off the forum role on Discord.

Sign in with Discord​

The login and sign-up pages now offer Continue with Discord.

• New here: you get the usual sign-up form, with your name suggested and the terms to accept. Your Discord e-mail address must be verified, because it becomes the address of your forum account.
• Already a member: log in with your password once, then turn it on in Connected accounts. An existing account is never attached by itself, so a Discord account that happens to use your e-mail address cannot get into yours.
• Each time: Discord asks you to authorize the sign-in, because the forum does not keep your Discord token.
