What it is
The Emporium Client is a small free add-on that connects your forum to your account here. Once it is installed, your Admin CP knows which of my add-ons you own, which versions you are running, and which ones have a newer release waiting.
Updating becomes a button. No download, no unzip, no upload.
Setting it up
- Download the Emporium Client from the store. It is free.
- Install it like any add-on. See Install an add-on.
- Open its settings and paste two values from your licence page here: your licence key and, underneath it, your signing key.
- Hit pair. Your board introduces itself and the list of what you own appears.
The two keys, and why there are two
The licence key identifies your purchase. The signing key proves the request really came from your board and not from someone who saw your licence key over your shoulder.
Both belong to you and both live on your licence page. Neither of them lets anybody read anything about another customer.
What your board reports
Its domain, its XenForo version, its PHP version and the versions of my add-ons installed on it. Nothing about your members, your content or your settings.
That is also what makes support fast: when you open a ticket, I can already see what you are running instead of asking.
Testing on a local copy
Development installs are recognised and do not count against your licence. A domain ending in .local, .test, .invalid, .internal or running on localhost is flagged as development, so trying things on your laptop never costs you a seat.
