Release XenSpotlight 2.0: crown a member every week, from a race the whole forum can follow

XenSpotlight puts one member in the spotlight every day, week or month: the person who posted, helped and solved the most. Version 1.0 did the job, but its periods started at midnight UTC, a live race paid the alert, the broadcast and the XP again on every change of leader, and solutions only counted for the top ten posters. Version 2.0.0 rebuilds the add-on on XenForo itself, fixes all of that at the root and keeps every 1.0 feature. It is still free.

One member, center stage​

• The spotlight page is a native member header: avatar, banners, period, the days the activity was measured, posts, reactions, solutions, score and how many times the member was featured.
• The featured member writes a short message and picks an accent color from the page itself. The text is censored and limited to 280 characters.
• Members congratulate the winner with XenForo's reactions. The winner gets an alert, and every spotlight alert can be switched off in alert preferences.

A race everyone can follow​

• A podium and a top ten with posts, reactions and solutions, refreshed through the period.
• Logged-in members see their score and rank, how far they are from the top ten, or the exact reason they cannot be featured yet: not enough messages, an account too new, an excluded group, or featured last time.
• Lock the winner from last period's activity, or run a live race and crown the leader when the period ends. Either way, rewards are given once.

Seen across your forum​

• An In the spotlight banner in posts, in the member tooltip and on the profile while the period lasts, read from a cache: a long thread costs no extra query.
• A Spotlights count on profiles that opens the member's own hall of fame, and Most featured in Notable members.
• A hall of fame with pages and a filter by member, and a Featured member widget that can show the top three of the race.
• A user criterion for trophies, promotions and notices: "has been featured at least N times".

Fixed at the root​

• Periods follow your forum's time zone: local midnight, Monday for weeks, the 1st for months, daylight saving included.
• The selection runs every hour instead of once a day at 02:15, so a daily spotlight is no longer decided on two hours of activity.
• Solutions count for every member, and posts in deleted or moderated threads no longer count.
• The broadcast respects alert preferences, skips banned and inactive accounts and runs in batches. Renamed, merged and deleted members are handled.
• The stylesheet went from 22 KB to 5 KB, and the widget loads less than 1 KB.

For the people running it​

• An overview with the current spotlight and a live ranking without cache, with an eligibility column that explains every pick.
• A list of every spotlight to edit, recalculate or delete, and a form to feature a member by hand.
• Excluded groups, forums and members picked from lists, weights that can be set to 0, an admin permission, a Rebuild XenSpotlight tool, style properties and a read-only REST API.

Upgrading​

Download 2.0.0 from your account, back up, then install the archive over any 1.0.x from the Admin CP. Your spotlights, options and permissions are kept, typed exclusions are converted to lists, and nothing is paid twice. If the upgrade stops with an "invalid callback" error, your data is safe: wait two minutes (some hosts keep PHP files in memory) and click Upgrade again.
