Guide Tandem: start here

Tandem makes your forum and your Discord one community. This is where to ask about it, report a problem or suggest what comes next.

Start here​

1. Install it, then open Admin CP, Tandem, Getting started. The page reads your real server and shows what is left.
2. Create your free application and bot in the Discord developer portal, and paste the IDs and the token. Getting started names each one and the permissions the bot really needs. It never needs Administrator.
3. Invite the bot and check the lounge page. Choose which channels the forum shows and which ones members may write in. Reserved channels stay closed until you open them.
4. Pick how live you want it. Polling needs nothing. Add Pusher or Soketi for a live signal, and the Instant companion if you have a server that can run Node 22.
5. Turn on what you want next: role rules, log in, announcements, slash commands, the welcome card. Every module switches on and off by itself.

Good to know​

Requires XenForo 2.3 and PHP 8.1 or later. Built and tested on XenForo 2.3.13 with PHP 8.3. Instant needs a server you control; the rest runs on ordinary shared hosting.
