A newcomer's first week decides whether they stay. Journey 1.x already walked them through it, but it did so with a look of its own, counters that could drift and a launcher that sometimes sat on top of your footer. Version 2.0.0 rebuilds the add-on on XenForo itself, keeps every 1.3 feature and makes most of them do more.

Any condition can be a step
Steps no longer stop at the built-in list. Pick "Match XenForo user criteria" and use the core criteria editor: post 10 messages, reach a reaction score, enable two-step verification, connect a Discord account, fill in a custom field. Four new criteria join the list too: profile posts, poll votes, bookmarks, and Gravatars now count as avatars.Steps count what members really did
- Counting steps read the forum's own data: removing and re-adding a reaction no longer advances a step, and content approved by a moderator now counts.
- Every completion is written in a single conditional update, so two tabs or two quick clicks can never pay a step twice, and a journey finishes exactly once.
- The journey work runs after the member's post is saved, never inside it.
The journey reaches the rest of your forum
- New user criteria for notices, trophies, promotions and ads: has completed the journey, has not completed it, has a journey in progress, has completed at least X steps. Greet members still on their journey with a notice, award a trophy at the end.
- Two widgets (the visitor's journey with its next step, and the latest graduates) and three widget positions on the journey page.
- A "Your journey" section in XenForo's activity summary email, and native statistics in Tools > Statistics.
- Alerts members can switch off in their preferences, and reminder emails with the native one-click unsubscribe.
Built for the people running it
- A Journey tab on every member in the control panel: what the journey sees for each step ("2, needs 5"), complete with or without rewards, skip, reset, recalculate, restart.
- A funnel by cohort with median times, a bottleneck warning and the latest graduates.
- Required steps, Undo after a skip, step preview, duplicate, native sorting, a health check above the list, XML export and import.

Log in on the demo board with demo / demo2026: the launcher waits in the bottom corner, press J to open it, then follow a member or start a thread and watch the step tick itself. The journey page shows the whole path.Upgrading
The update is free for every licence within its 12 months of updates: download 2.0.0 from your account, back up, then install the archive over any 1.x version from the Admin CP. Per-group journeys become user criteria with the same rule, and the member summary is rebuilt in the background without sending any alert. One thing to check first: "Close inactive journeys after" (30 days by default) now really applies, so set it to 0 if every journey should stay open.Journey on the store, with the full list of changes in the version history.
