We have a lot of badges and the profile overview is a little bit bad;)

I would recommend not displaying these in a complete list, but rather just the logo, name, and then side by side. It should also be possible to set how many you want to display for example, a default of 5–10 and then include a “Show More” button.

It would also be very important if you could convert all your add-ons into achievements here. Unfortunately, there are so many options missing. Many are missing from the forum as well. Another very important feature would be the ability to finally upload your own badges. The FA icons are nice, but they don’t always fit.

Hi, I'll make a note of your requests.

Thank you for your feedback. :)

Two weeks on, here is where this actually stands, item by item, because "noted" was not much of an answer.

More criteria: partly done. Level 1.4.0 gave every achievement and quest criterion an Applicable forums field, so anything you already had can be scoped to chosen sections, and it added Game DB criteria, so games added and reviews written can now drive achievements. That covers criteria coming from another add-on, for GameHub at least. It does not cover the rest of the range yet, which is the honest version.

The profile display: agreed, and being redesigned. Your screenshot is the argument. A vertical list stops being a showcase the moment someone owns more than a handful of badges, and it pushes everything else off the page. The direction is the one you described: icon and name, laid out side by side, capped, with a Show more control. I am also unifying how badges look across the add-ons that display them, so a board running several of mine does not end up with four different badge styles on one profile.

Two decisions I would rather take with you than alone:
  • What is the right default cap: five, ten, or one row that adapts to the width?
  • Newest first, or rarest first? Rarest makes a better showcase, newest makes a better reward.

Custom badge uploads: not built, and you are right about it. Font Awesome is fine until the day you want your own artwork, and then it is a wall. The plan is an image per badge with the icon kept as a fallback, so existing setups keep working untouched. No date attached, but it is written into the roadmap now instead of living in my notes.

The missing criteria. Rather than me guessing at twenty, name the three actions you most want to reward and cannot today. Those three get built first.

Level 1.4.1 is on the store, and it is this thread from top to bottom.

Your own artwork on any badge. Upload a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP for an achievement and it replaces the Font Awesome icon everywhere that badge appears: the member profile, the showcase, the album and the Admin CP list. It is stored as a clean square, so a wide logo is framed rather than squashed, and clearing the field brings the icon straight back. You were right that the icons are fine until the day they are not.

The profile display. Badges are compact tiles side by side now, not one full width row each, and the description moved into the tooltip so a tile stays one line tall. Thirty badges no longer bury the rest of the profile. It applies to the profile tab, the My level page and the showcase.

The cap. I asked you five, ten or an adaptive row: the answer is eight by default, and it is an option, with zero meaning always show every badge. You can set it to whatever your board actually needs.

The missing criteria. I asked you for three actions to build first. Building three would have been the wrong answer, so instead: any activity that already earns XP on your board can now become an achievement. Watch parties hosted, teams joined, streaks kept, stamps collected, onboarding steps finished, game trophies unlocked. The list is read from your own board rather than hard coded, so an add-on you install next month appears in it by itself, with nothing to configure. That is what "convert all your add-ons into achievements" should have meant from the start.

Full notes: Level 1.4.1 is out

Once you have upgraded, I would like to see a screenshot of the same profile that started this thread. Yours was the argument, so yours should be the before and after.
