XenPing started as a single button: wave at a member from their profile, they get an alert, done. It worked, and people asked for more ways to say hello and an easy way to answer. Version 2.0.0 rebuilds the add-on on XenForo itself, keeps everything 1.x did and turns the wave into a small social feature of its own. It is still free.

More than a wave
- Five gestures: Wave, Cheers, Coffee, High five and Thanks. Each has its own alert with its emoji, so "Lena_K offered you a coffee" reads differently from a plain wave. The wave is always there; you choose which of the other four your members get.
- Wave from a profile, from the member tooltip, and if you switch it on, from the author block of every message. That menu only loads when someone opens it and the counts are preloaded for the whole page, so long threads stay as fast as before.
Waving back
- A new Your waves page lists everything you received and sent. Wave back answers with the same gesture in one click, and the page remembers who you already answered.
- The leaderboard now covers the last 7 days, the last 30 days and all time, with the podium, infinite scroll and your own counts. A Most waved widget can show any of those periods anywhere on your forum.
Friendly, never spammy
- A Wave at you privacy setting: members, people you follow, or nobody. Members you ignore cannot wave at you.
- A daily limit per user group, including unlimited for staff or supporters; groups without a value keep using the daily limit option. The cooldown per person and flood protection stay.
- The optional email that tells an inactive member someone waved is still there, at most once in a while.
For the people running it
- A wave log in the Admin CP under Logs, with filters by member and direction and the numbers for the last day, week and all time.
- A counters rebuild under Tools, alert preferences, a REST API (list your waves, send one) and Spanish translations installed automatically.
- Counts are stored per member instead of being counted on every page view, deleted and merged members are handled, and uninstalling leaves nothing behind.
Upgrading
Download 2.0.0 from your account, back up, then install the archive over 1.x from the Admin CP. Every wave is kept and the counts are rebuilt automatically. Add-ons that called the 1.x repository keep working.XenPing on the store, free, with the full list of changes in the version history.
