Watch Party 2.0.0 is on the store.
Almost everything a member sees is new: a section of its own, a complete chat, crews, a queue, live polls, premieres, replays and moments. If you run 1.4, the upgrade is direct and your rooms, messages and ratings come with you.
A Watch Parties section in the look of your style.
Live now, Upcoming, Replays, Lobby and My parties, in the native look of your style, light and dark, with three widgets: Live now, Upcoming and Top rated. The home page carries a lobby chat, with an announcement when a party goes live, a premiere opens or a recap is posted.
More to watch.
Twitch live channels, Vimeo, video and audio files, HLS streams and forum attachments join YouTube, Twitch videos and VK Video. A player that cannot start, or a platform it does not support, now says so instead of leaving an empty frame, and a video that hits an error while playing resumes at the same point.
A complete chat, and the tools to moderate it.
Multi-line messages, replies, mentions, native reactions, edit and delete, reports, a pinned message, a typing indicator and slash commands with a palette. On the staff side: slow mode, mutes, kicks and bans with a duration and a reason, and chat rules shown before the first message. GIFs come through GIPHY and an AI assistant through OpenRouter, and each one stays hidden until its key is set.
A crew runs the party, and a party can be private.
Co-hosts and moderators, a private backstage channel, and a remote that can be passed on. Parties are public, unlisted or private, with invitation links that carry a role, an expiry and a number of uses.
The audience has a say.
A queue where members add a video with a preview, vote for what plays next and vote to skip, with autoplay. Live polls with results on the player, and predictions with an alert for everyone who guessed right. A member can step away, pausing for themselves while the party goes on, then catch up at 1.25, 1.5 or 2 times the speed or jump back to live. A scheduled party opens before the hour with a countdown and starts on time, even if the host is late.
The evening is kept as a replay.
The chat reveals itself at the right second, reactions and polls replay, a highlight curve shows where the room went wild, and later viewers can leave timed comments. Moments are captured live or in a replay, each with its own page, and two BB codes, WATCHPARTY and WPMOMENT, post a party or a moment as a card anywhere on the forum. Recap threads are posted automatically in the forum of your choice, and a new end page shows figures, videos played, moments and ratings.
For administrators.
Permissions come in two sections: what members can do, and what your staff can moderate, the second also offered to global moderators. The Admin CP gains a moderation page with active sanctions, deleted messages and a message search that jumps to the replay instant, a dashboard with watch time and a health check of each integration, extended statistics, and a real-time test on every kind of channel. Options are sorted into six groups. There are four trophy criteria (parties watched, parties hosted, hours watched and predictions won) and a tool that creates four suggested trophies.
Fixed along the way.
Upgrading, and what to expect.
Upload the files over the existing ones, then upgrade the add-on in the Admin CP. Coming from 1.4 is direct and keeps every room, message and rating. Review the new permissions afterwards: there are two sections of them now, and I would rather you decide who gets what than discover it later. GIFs and the AI assistant need keys of your own, and stay out of sight without them. Replays start with the parties played on 2.0.

Fixed along the way.
- A guest could end a party whose host account no longer existed.
- A party whose host is still there is no longer ended as inactive, even while the video stays paused.
- Three icons never showed under XenForo 2.3.
- Level experience was awarded for Watch Party activity even while Level was disabled.
- Cancelling a scheduled stream now asks for confirmation instead of deleting it in one click.
